A few days ago, the Antigua and Barbuda Immigration Department released statistics which show that in the first half of 2018 the program received the highest volume of applications in it’s history, growing by 49% YOY compared to the same period in the preceding year.

This dramatic increase is no doubt due to the introduction & subsequent extension of the “Limited Time Offer” on the contributory option of the citizenship programme, which makes the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP) one of the cheapest in the world. Investors must note that this is a “limited time offer” & will be terminated sometime in late 2019. Hence, investors who wish to take advantage of this program must choose to apply at an early date.

Amongst the more popular investment options, the donation route has been the most popular, with real estate & business investment the other preferred options. Antigua & Barbuda has also recently introduced two changes in its CIP, which are –

1. Accepting payments in currencies other than the US Dollar

2. Introduction of a fourth investment option i.e. the “University Option”.
